Ms. Smith joined the firm after serving as a Deputy Chief, Assistant United States Attorney, for the Department of Justice in the District of Nevada where she supervised a team of attorneys and litigated and tried civil cases on behalf of the United States. Prior to joining the Department of Justice, Ms. Smith cultivated a civil litigation practice with an emphasis on business disputes, Section 1983 claims, and the health care industry.

Ms. Smith has significant first-chair trial experience. She has obtained successful verdicts in both jury and bench trials, including defense verdicts in an officer-involved shooting and in many tort actions. Ms. Smith has also obtained favorable outcomes for her clients outside the courtroom in alternative dispute resolution forums.

Ms. Smith is a regular volunteer with the Special Olympics of Nevada and was named Volunteer of the Year in 2022.
